Nice and cozy place to have a peace of mind. There are a variety of books here so you could grab a book and enjoy a cup of coffee. They offer mainly pizzas and sandwiches, which I have yet to try. Drip coffee was good though. I was 90% "charged" after having one.

Found this place accidentally as I was looking for a coffee shop near my appointment with a friend. Surprisingly, this place is not offer you handcrafted coffee but also plenty of second-hand books in EN and Chinese. They're like hidden gem. This place which I dream to spend my holidays, I could spend all day long here with nice ambiance room, great coffee and friendly people.

A hidden gem for book lovers. We just so happen walking past this street and discovered this unique secondhand bookstore cum cafe. There are many secondhand books mainly Mandarin books. They serve simple drinks and desserts. The owner is friendly. Their cat is so fluffy!

The Woods is one of those places that looks like paradise from the outside. It’s peaceful, with lush greenery, bamboo shrubs, and a koi pond that somehow makes the city noise disappear. Inside, the rustic vibe is undeniable: dusty second-hand books stacked high, vintage décor, and the faint smell of coffee fighting with the scent of old paper. Calm. Quiet. A place to actually breathe. Inside, your first impression may change. The staff can be charming, though at other times brusque or invisible, as if apathy were a carefully curated part of the experience. Coffee choices are limited, mostly Chinese teas, though the drip coffee carries depth and clarity when executed well. Quick bites like taufufah or scones also manage to hit the right note if expectations are modest. Vegetarian dishes are clean and well prepared, but sometimes subtle in flavour. Ice cream sodas and citrus blueberry scones complement the coffee perfectly. Avocado toast earns genuine praise, peanut butter toast satisfies, and thin-crust pizzas arrive with a crisp, delicate bite, though portions are smaller than expected. Despite the ups and downs, this place works if the goal is to slow down. The garden out back is a proper oasis. The interior invites a pause: books to browse, a fluffy cat to pet, corners to hide in. Photographers and book lovers will find plenty to admire. It’s not perfect, but there’s undeniable charm in the combination of rustic surroundings, a curated literary collection, and the sense that you’ve stumbled into a small, secret world.

An OASIS! I could feel the vibes of ease and calmness - just as I entered the garden. The lush & varied plants, especially the bamboo shrubs were welcoming & calming. RUSTIC & BOOKS! Love the entire combination & ambience Taking my time to wind down, I ordered a siphon coffee (Laotian beans) & a citrus blueberry scone to complement Wish I had more time to truly relax..... And to browse the shelves full of books

A tastefully decorated cafe surrounded by books and vintage deco. Plenty of area for photography. Owner is an artist. Enjoyed the ice cream soda and the speciality pizzas. Mum feedback was she was unable to taste the monkeyhead mushroom. A little bit more of improvement will go a long way.

A nice old place to just hang out with a drink and just read some books from its shelves with various of collections to select from. The dining ambience is calm and everything you see around are classic & vintage especially the books and the over all setting of the place. An absolute gem. Worth visiting here especially if you're searching for peace and also looking for the kind of coffee cafe which are unique and different from the typical ones.

A quaint and a quite place, perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can read the books available or maybe bring your own and enjoy them with some tasty bits of snacks that are freshly prepared. Items on the menu are a bit pricey for the serving size but value is justified by food prepared as ordered so you have low chance of being served stale coffee or bread. The background instrumental music are just the right volume to create the mood of chill and tranquil atmosphere. The books are secondhand and limited English selections, with majority are in Chinese prints so bringing your own wil be recommended. A tiny bit disappointed that 'old book smell' is not distinct since it was expected and looked forward to in a secondhand bookshop, but I guess it will be reassuring for those with nasal allergies. Overall a very relaxing experience and much recommended for those who want to hide away from the world for awhile.
